Interview with Daisy: The story behind the Blossombs x Miffy collection

What does Miffy mean to you personally?

“To me, Miffy is a true Dutch icon. Simple, pure and timeless.

This collaboration also means a lot to me personally because years ago, I had my own children’s range, which even included a little book. It never really took off at the time. Since then, Blossombs has grown into a brand mainly for adults: for gifts, businesses and, of course, teachers too. But with Miffy, I now get the chance to create something that truly appeals to children again.

For me, this collection brings together everything I love: creating beautiful things, the world of children, and bringing more flowers to bees and butterflies. That makes it all the more special.”

Why are Miffy and Blossombs such a good match?

“To me, Miffy and Blossombs are a very natural fit. For generations, Miffy has brought colour to the world through her iconic illustrations, while Blossombs do so quite literally, with colourful wildflowers for people, bees and butterflies.

What I love is that we both use something small to create something much bigger. Miffy does this with just a few lines and colours, creating a world that children instantly understand: simple, sweet, familiar and full of wonder. Blossombs do it with little seed bombs that eventually grow into something much bigger: flowers, biodiversity and a little extra joy in the world.

It’s all about wonder, nature, colour and doing something kind for the world around you. That’s exactly why this collaboration feels so natural.”

What makes this collection special?

“For me, what makes this collection so special is the way it brings together design, nature and meaning. It’s not just a gift to look at – it’s something you can plant too.

That means the gift has a life beyond the moment you give it. Flowers can grow from it, for you, the bees and the butterflies. That’s what I love so much about this collection. You’re not just giving someone a lovely gift; you’re giving them a little piece of nature too.”

What are you most looking forward to?

“Most of all, I’m looking forward to seeing how people react when they see Miffy and Blossombs together. To me, it’s such a special combination because it feels cheerful and sweet, while also carrying a meaningful message.

And to be honest, the first time we actually held the collection in our hands was a very special moment. When an idea you’ve worked on for so long suddenly becomes a real product, it still feels a little magical.”

What do you hope people will feel when they give or receive something from this collection?

“With the Blossombs x Miffy collection, we want to show in a cheerful and accessible way that even something small can make a difference. A small gift, a little seed bomb, a simple gesture – that can eventually grow into flowers for bees and butterflies.

I hope this collection encourages both children and adults to pay a little more attention to the nature around them. Not in a big or complicated way, but in a simple and positive one: give something thoughtful, plant something small and help make the world a little more colourful and full of flowers.”
